Another Favorite Meal, Restaurant Style Sub Sandwiches

This is a meal that we don't have too often, and I'm not exactly sure why.  It's delicious and super easy!

To make these awesome sandwiches you'll need the following ingredients:

Hoagie Sandwich Rolls
Canadian Bacon
Pepperoni
Salami
Mozzarella Cheese
Ranch Dressing

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Place desired amount of hoagies open faced on a cookie sheet.  On one side of the hoagie, line with Canadian Bacon to cover and then top with Pepperoni.  On the other side line with Salami.  Top with desired amount of Mozzarella Cheese on both sides -- a little goes a long way.

Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese starts to turn brown on the edges.  Keep a close eye on them, they cook quickly!  Cool for 3 minutes, top with a small amount of Ranch Dressing, and fold sandwich together.  Slice in half and enjoy!

Honey Balsamic Chicken & Chipotle Lime Summer Salad - Oh.my.goodness!

I think these two might just be my favorite recipes using Wildtree ingredients ever. Like seriously. They are THAT good! Here are the Wildtree ingredients you're going to need. European Dipping Oil - Mediterranean Balsamic for chicken and Wildtree Chipotle Lime Rub, Wildtree Italian Dressing Blend mixed with Wildtree Roasted Garlic Grapeseed Oil for the salad.

Honey Balsamic Chicken Breast

Ingredients
4 - 6 Chicken Breasts
1/2 cup European Dipping Oil- Mediterranean Balsamic
1/2 cup Honey
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Soy Sauce

Mix the Balsamic Dipping Oil, Honey, Brown Sugar, and Soy Sauce in a freezer bag. Shake and squeeze the contents of the bag to dissolve the honey and brown sugar. Add the chicken to the bag. Remove air and either marinate 2 hours or freeze. Defrost in fridge. Preheat oven to 450ºF. Place the chicken breast on a foil-lined and greased baking sheet. Bake until the skin is caramelized and very dark in spots, about 20 to 30 minutes. Meanwhile, place leftover marinade in a small saucepan. Bring the marinade to a boil for 5 minutes, in order to kill bacteria. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until thick, about 30 minutes and set aside. Use a pastry brush to brush the cooked marinade onto the cooked chicken or serve marinade alongside as a sauce/gravy.

Chipotle Lime Summer Salad

Ingredients
3 ears Corn
1 1/2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1 1/2 teaspoons Wildtree Chipotle Lime Rub
1 bag Spring Mix Lettuce
1/2 cup Shredded Carrots
1 Cucumber, peeled and diced
1/2 cup diced Onions
1 large Tomato, chopped
1 Avocado, diced
1/4 cup Wildtree Italian Dressing, prepared

Cook or grill corn on the cob, then cut corn off the cob and place in a bowl while still warm with butter and chipotle lime rub. Stir until mixed. In a separate large salad bowl, combine the greens and veggies. Top salad with corn and avocado. Serve with Italian Dressing on the side.

Seth's Legendary Minecraft Party

Seth turns 6!

This year Seth wanted a Minecraft themed birthday party.  It was a lot of work, especially for how many people we had attending.  It was worth it though, and he loved it as well as all his friends!

I made this banner with my cricut.  The font is Minecraft Alt which you can download for free.
(Link at bottom of page.)

We had a candy buffet with Hershey's Nuggets for Gold, Swedish Fish for Fish, Blue Rock Candy for Diamonds, Green Rock Candy for Emeralds, and Red Rock Candy for Red Stone.  The Food Tent Cards I found online and we altered them for some of the items we were having.
(Link at bottom of Page.)

Red Twizzlers for TNT in clear boxes from Oriental Trading Co.  The Creeper Bottled Water Labels were available for download for free as well.
(Link at bottom of page.)

I also served juice boxes, Creeper Juice, and Sweet Tea.  The Creeper Juice was Green Apple Koolaid.  It was a hit!

The table I made to look like a grass block.  It had a green plastic tablecloth on top, and a brown plastic pleated skirt.

Food:

Chicken - Chicken Nuggets (from Sam's)
Cheese Dip (Seth's favorite!)
Tortilla Chips
Carrots - Cheese Puffs
Sticks - Pretzels
Melon - Watermelon
Pizza Dip (a crowd pleaser!  Recipe link posted below)
Lava - Colby Cheese Cubes
Mushrooms - Marshmallows dipped in Red Chocolate with White Chocolate dots on top
Cookies (Not Pictured)

Here's the cake I made.  It's got Graham Cracker Crumbs for the sides and Red Chocolate that I melted and and cut into squares.

Happy Birthday Seth!

I made the pinata using tissue paper and a huggies wipes box.  It was super easy.  You don't even unfold the tissue paper.  Just cut about 3 or 4 inch strips of the paper, then cut 1 or 2 inch strips about 1/2 an inch apart.  Unfold and glue to the box!  I did cover the box with red construction paper first, because you could see the huggies labels through the tissue.

We also had perler beads to make necklaces in the shape of Minecraft characters.  I forgot to take a picture though.

It was a fantastic party.  We are worn out!  Seth had a great time and it was all worth it!  Hope this helps you plan your perfect Minecraft party!

Wyatt's Thomas The Train Birthday Party!

Choo Choo!  Wyatt turned 2!

Wyatt is a huge fan of "Choo Choo" otherwise known as Thomas the Tank Engine.  He loved everything about his party and it was a huge success!  I searched high and low for ideas across the interwebs.  Here's a few pictures of the party and maybe will give you a few ideas for your Thomas party!

I made the banner with my cricut and used mini clothes pins to attach them to a string.

We had tons of food. Here's the list:

Produce Car - Celery & Carrots
Grain Car - Crackers
Dairy Car - Spinach Dip
Lumber Car - Pretzels
Grain Car - Chips
Salsa Car - Salsa
Coal Car - Grapes
 Aquarium Car - Goldfish Crackers
Fruit Kabobs
Sir Topham Hatt's Wraps
and Station House Sandwiches (PB&J sandwiches cut out in the shapes of trains)

I got the graphic for the food tents from PBS Kids Parent's website.  (Link at bottom of page.)

And the filling station had Lemonade, Sweet Tea, Juice Boxes, and Bottled Water.  I got the bottle wrappers from online for free.  (Link at bottom of page.)

And of course we had cake.  Made by me.  I did a test run of this about 2 weeks before the party.  It took me about 7 hours the first time I made it, the second time only took about 5 (baking time included).

And cupcakes!

Here were the party favors.  Each included a conductor hat, handkerchief, train whistle, and a pasta train. I picked up the hats, handkerchief, and whistle from Amazon fairly cheap.  The pasta trains were an idea I got from the PBS website and they took me about 3 hours to make.

This was the first time we had a lot of kids over to play on the castle fort we've been building.

Happy Birthday Wyatt!

I picked up a pull string pinata also from Amazon.  It was a big hit with the kids.  Fair warning though, don't stuff too much candy in it. The candy only fills up at the back, so if you put too much in it it hangs crooked.

All in all, it was a great party and everyone had fun.  I was so glad that I had prepared the food beforehand and wasn't cooking when the guests arrived.  It was nice to actually enjoy the party.
Hope you have a success with your party as well!
